From Vision to Reality: WBU Graduates its First Generation of Students!

On July 7, 2025, Western Balkans University organized its first graduation ceremony, a historic event that marked the successful conclusion of an important academic chapter for the first generation of graduating students. The ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere, in the presence of high-ranking institutional representatives, public figures, academic staff, and the students’ families.

The opening speech was delivered by the Rector of Western Balkans University, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, who emphasized in his address the importance of this moment for the institution, as well as the university’s commitment to academic quality , innovation , and the preparation of future professionals.

Following that, the welcoming address was delivered by Dr. Klodian Allajbeu, founder of Western Balkans University and the American Hospital , and President of the British-Albanian Chamber of Commerce, who shared the vision behind the creation of the institution and its strategic role in the development of higher education in Albania and beyond.

The ceremony was also honored by His Excellency, the British Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Nicholas Abbott, who stated that the collaboration Western Balkans University has established with British universities is a clear testimony to the institution’s international orientation and high academic standards.

After the official speeches, the diploma awarding ceremony took place, a symbolic and climactic moment that officially marked the graduation of the university’s first cohort. The event concluded with the traditional cap toss, an act filled with emotion, joy, and pride for the efforts, sacrifices, and achievements of each graduate.
